In the wake of ChatGPT's emergence last year, major tech companies have rushed to incorporate AI-driven services into their offerings.

These services consume considerably more power compared to traditional applications, significantly increasing the energy demands of online activities.

Nevertheless, the study also suggests that the environmental impact of AI could be mitigated if its current rate of expansion were to decelerate.
